Lansing is the author of \u201cInsurgent Democracy: The Nonpartisan League in North American Politics,\u201d which presents the history of The Nonpartisan League\u00a0and describes its continued\u00a0influence in the upper Midwest.<\/p>\n<p>Lansing describes the League as a grassroots organization started by farmers who were discontent with\u00a0large grain milling and transportation corporations in the region.
