The purpose of a timely warning is to provide information to aid the Augsburg community in protecting themselves after a report of a serious crime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Reported Offense: Hate Crime &#8211; Destruction\/Damage\/Vandalism of Property<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On July 7, 2025, at approximately 9:15 a.m., the Augsburg Department of Public Safety received a report that there was a photo of an employee on a wall in Anderson Music Hall that had been defaced. The employee reported concerns that their photo was defaced on account of their racial identity. The incident took place sometime between 5:00 p.m. on June 23, 2025, and 10:00 a.m. on July 6, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Suspect Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At this time, there is no description of a suspect involved in this incident.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Status<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DPS is currently investigating this incident. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is urged to contact Augsburg DPS at 612-330-1717.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Reporting Incidents<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Augsburg asks its community members to report any and all concerns that may impact our campus community. We also encourage you to utilize the resources available on <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/dps\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the DPS website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Safety Tips<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not prop doors open, and ensure all doors from which you enter\/exit are securely closed behind you.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep your head up and always be aware of your surroundings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call DPS or the Minneapolis Police if you see any suspicious activity.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Disclaimer<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Â̲èÖ±²¥ believes that physical descriptors alone are not a valid reason to profile or cast suspicion on any individual. When physical descriptors are included in communication to the Augsburg community, it is done so because they may reasonably assist in identifying the perpetrator of the incident. Â̲èÖ±²¥ uses perceived race and gender descriptors that are provided about a suspect only when additional characteristics (beyond clothing) are also available. Such descriptors are used in an attempt to provide the campus community with important information.
